About Dr. T

Hi! My name is Tiffany, and I'm a physician in South Florida. Let me fill you in on a me, and what I do.

Professionally: I was born and raised in Florida, and always wanted to be a doctor. I have always loved science and people, so I figured that medicine put the two together relatively well. I attended college at Florida Atlantic University and graduated at age 19 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychobiology, Magna Cum Laude. I went on to medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, and graduated at the ripe age  of 23. I was the youngest in my class, and from what they tell me, the youngest to graduate from there ever. I decided to go onto a residency program in Internal Medicine at a local hospital in Miami, which lasted another 3 years. I am currently Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, a Testamur of the National Board of Echocardiography and a Chief Cardiology Fellow in Miami. I enjoy educating the public about health, nutrition and disease prevention. I have been quoted in published books on nutrition and weight loss and spoken publicly about women's health for various events. I am also very active with my local American Heart and Stroke Association Chapter and serve as the President of the Board of Directors for the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/ Miami Chapter. My husband and I opened a concierge internal medicine practice in early 2013. More information on the practice and concierge medicine can be found here..!

Personally: I am a girls girl. Just because I am a doctor doesn't mean I don't know how to enjoy life and shop like the next woman! I am happily married to another doctor (he is a little more quiet then me) and we have a happy little home in Ft. Lauderdale. Part of this blog will be just about this, enjoying life. You see, I believe that you cannot be physically healthy without spiritual and emotional health as well.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease.

My Wedding Day!

In short, I am disappointed with the healthcare that the people in our country are receiving. It seems to be an "in and out" business in many instances. Last time I checked, this is medicine, not a fast food restaurant. Good care takes time. Period. That is why I write...in hopes that something that you read may help you understand different medical conditions or topics. Something may even prompt you to see your local physician. But, more than anything..please..PLEASE do not settle for "average" healthcare!

Feel free send me any questions (or awesome new shoe photos!) that you may have. I will do my best to answer, and will re-post on the blog (minus the name, of course!)
